With celebrations already in the air, everyone is all out celebrating Ramzan. Eid ul-Fitr which is slated to be celebrated on Saturday, the party has gone bigger and better. SodaBottleOpenerwala had a month long celebration of the holy month by hosting a Nizami Daawat in Delhi.
Being always open to celebrations, I decided to explore what the Iranian Cafe had to offer which already has some amazing dishes on it’s menu.
We started our grand meal by ordering Lukhmi which is a typical starter to a Hyderabadi cuisine. A savoury dish which can called as a form of samosa, with a stuffing of minced keema. The outer pastry was soft and flakey which made the stuffing stand out. The minced meat was spiced right for the taste buds, not making it too spicy.
The Mutton Biryani was a delicious affair. Hyderabadi biryani is a well known dish and literally is the best thing that has ever happened to mankind. The biryani at Soda Bottle Openerwala was amazing, and complemented the haleeem that we had ordered as an accompaniment. The haleem was unlike the traditional Hyderabadi preparation, it was actually an Iranian version. It was a hearty dish and a Haleem is a mix of wheat and meat, making it a sumptuous dish. The Nizami feast at SodaBottleOpenerwala is a wonderful initiative to encourage everyone to enjoy the delicacies that are an important part of the festival.
